Family Fun Run at NIXPO
The Nixa School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) will sponsor a 5K Family Fun Run at Nixa High School on March 12. Registration will be from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at the football stadium and the run will start at 8 a.m.
There is no cost to participate; however, a limited number of t-shirts will be available for $5 each. There will be several drawings for iPods. Those who purchase a t-shirt will be automatically entered in the drawings. The 3.1 mile course runs through nearby neighborhoods. This community event is held in conjunction with the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce’s NIXPO and is intended to draw attention to the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Health research shows people in America need more fitness and fun in their lives. Come walk, jog, run, ride a bike or push a stroller with us for this family, non-competitive event. Challenge your friends to participate! Let’s get out and move, Nixa!
How Nixa businesses can get involved for the NIXPO 5K if interested:
The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) of Nixa Schools has a great opportunity for Nixa businesses to be involved in the upcoming NIXPO 5K. The NIXPO 5K runs at 8am on March 12th just before the doors open for NIXPO. This is a non-competitive event where all families are encouraged to run, walk, or ride bikes to promote health and wellness. We are looking for any $50 to $100 donations. Donors will be printed on the back of our shirt, should they choose to donate. $100 donations will receive a more prominent position on the shirt. Many times, participants will wear their shirts while exploring NIXPO giving some additional advertising during the day. If interested, contact Kevin Kopp at kevinkopp@nixaschools.net or 417-449-3180. Donations will help us hold the event and contribute to other health and wellness activities for our Nixa students and the community throughout the year. Checks can be made to Nixa Public Schools.
